Mission of Houston Graduate School of Theology:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerk Typist to join our team at Houston Graduate School of Theology. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to perform clerical tasks and assist with administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of our institution.”

Responsibilities and more:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize computer software to type letters, reports, and other documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Proofread and edit various documents for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and distribute it to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain and update physical and electronic filing systems.
  • Assist with data entry and maintain accurate records of student and faculty information.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and events as needed.
  • Assist with handling and processing payments for tuition and other fees.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong typing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software programs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of theological terminology and practices is a plus.
  • Must be able to uphold and promote the values and mission of Houston Graduate School of Theology.
