Job Summary:
The Claims Analyst is responsible for accurately adjudicating and processing medical, dental, vision, or other related claims. This includes handling related correspondence and electronic inquiries for assigned groups. All claims and inquiries are processed according to plan documents, claim processing guidelines, and turnaround times.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and production-driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members, employees/members, providers, and clients
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in oral, written, or diagram form
- Flexibility and openness to continuous process improvement
- Ability to learn new/proprietary systems and effectively use MS Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of health insurance experience
- Experience with self-funded insurance/benefits and/or TPA
- Knowledge of medical procedure and diagnosis coding
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Experience with Summary Plan Documents (SPDs), insurance booklets, or other benefit descriptive tools
