Role Overview:
We are currently sourcing a seasoned Chief Accountant for our head office in JLT, Dubai. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the company’s accounting function, deliver timely and accurate financial information, and support management with financial insights while working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle accounting including month-end close, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review management reports, budgets and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, allocating tasks and driving productivity.
- Use ERP and accounting systems for accurate record keeping (JD Edwards experience is an advantage).
- Maintain strong communication with project teams to align on cost tracking and project accounting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ accounting experience — construction industry experience preferred.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; hands-on experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
