Description:
Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services is seeking a Chat and Text Supervisor to support its Suicide Prevention Center’s Crisis Chat and Text Services. This fully remote role involves supervising, mentoring, and supporting crisis counselors while ensuring adherence to program standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
This position includes a four-week, full-time training period (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST) at the start of employment, followed by scheduled shifts totaling 20 hours per week with flexible coverage including overnight hours.
Primary Duties:
- Monitor chat and text queues, ensuring counselors follow policies and practices for smooth service delivery.
- Document counselor performance and provide feedback via end-of-shift emails and to Program Coordinators.
- Assist counselors by locating appropriate resources during chats or texts.
- Support mandated reporting and rescue procedures in collaboration with the On-Call Supervisor.
- Communicate operational or technical issues to program leadership and escalate concerns as needed.
- Conduct debriefing sessions with counselors after interactions with clients.
- Identify training needs and provide guidance to crisis counselors.
- Monitor chat/text answer rates to ensure a minimum 95% response level.
- Attend scheduled meetings and participate in outreach, media, or training activities as needed.
- Take chats and texts when required to support program needs.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative work environment.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years or older.
- High-speed internet with Ethernet connection and a quiet/confidential workspace.
- Flexibility to work day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
- Knowledge of volunteer supervision, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, crisis line procedures, multicultural, and socio-economic issues.
- Basic supervisory skills to manage volunteer counselors while maintaining a supportive environment.
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and crisis line software.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Adaptability to changing protocols and program needs.
