Description:
RC Billing is seeking a detail-oriented Charge Entry Specialist to join our remote team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely daily charge entry for clients, adhering to RC Billing standards, reimbursement policies, and relevant federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of maintaining strong communication with management and team members while ensuring client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately post daily charges and balance accounts according to guidelines
- Resolve incomplete or missing charge information promptly to ensure timely entry
- Maintain and update client Charge Logs, ensuring totals are correct and balanced
- Report any system issues (VPN access, Code Scan, Allscripts, Tiger) to IT and management
- Maintain working knowledge of practice management systems and Radiation Oncology coding
- Participate in educational opportunities to stay current on Allscripts and coding updates
- Communicate effectively with management and ensure compliance with RC Billing Reimbursement Policies
- Uphold confidentiality of patient, medical, and financial information
- Work cohesively with peers to maintain a disciplined, remote work environment
- Achieve quarterly QA benchmarks of 80% or higher
- Be available for potential overtime during month-end close, with PTO restrictions during this period
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of healthcare administration principles and insurance procedures
- Proficiency in CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding
- Familiarity with Allscripts, Allscripts Pro PM, Practice EDI Insight, Epic, Mosaiq, or Aria preferred but not required
- Strong judgment, initiative, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships
- Capable of working in a HIPAA-compliant remote environment with secure internet and VPN access
Physical Requirements:
- Full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasional lifting of items up to 40 pounds
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range
Work Environment:
- Home-based remote work requiring a secure, HIPAA-compliant setup
