Description:
Pennant is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Cash Posting Specialist to support and lead cash posting and reconciliation operations across its Home Health and Hospice agencies. This role plays a key part in maintaining best-in-class revenue cycle practices while partnering closely with operational leaders and service center teams.

Job Summary:

  • Provide leadership and operational support to ensure accurate cash collections and reconciliation across assigned clusters.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Portfolio Leaders to develop, monitor, and sustain industry-leading best practices.
  • Work in partnership with billers, collectors, and service center AR teams to deliver a high-performing accounts receivable function.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish accountability for collection processes with Executive Directors and Revenue Cycle Portfolio Leaders.
  • Provide backup coverage for cash posters during planned or unexpected absences.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of Cash Posters in coordination with cluster leadership.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with billers, collectors, and portfolio teams.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of payer contracts and ensure collections align with contract terms.
  • Stay current on Medicare, Medicaid, and other government billing regulations and act as a subject-matter resource.
  • Partner with Executive Directors, AR Market Leaders, and Billing Managers on payer-related initiatives.
  • Participate in agency BAM meetings to review and report on collections received.
  • Review, research, and post multiple forms of payments on a daily basis.
  • Prepare daily cash reports and complete reconciliations accurately.
  • Investigate and resolve posting discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams.
  • Research and clear unidentified cash accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Manage automated payment files and address exceptions as needed.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in healthcare billing and collections, preferably within home health or hospice operations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment with strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage detailed financial information with accuracy and consistency.
  • Demonstrated tact and professionalism when working with colleagues, service center staff, referral partners, and payers.
  • Strong sense of ownership, flexibility, autonomy, and collaboration in daily responsibilities.
