The Cash Posting Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely posting of cash payments, audit letters, and correspondence to patient accounts while collaborating with insurance companies and internal departments to resolve discrepancies. This position supports healthcare operations by analyzing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), creating correction batches, and maintaining proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post cash payments, correspondence, and audit letters to patient accounts within SLA requirements
  • Collaborate with insurance providers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Analyze EOBs for accuracy and identify trends or issues requiring investigation
  • Obtain missing EOBs for posting and create correction batches as needed
  • Sort and scan correspondence batches for posting
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling patient and business information
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and security standards

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven experience in cash posting and basic accounting/finance
  • Ability to enter data accurately and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with Explanation of Benefits and healthcare payment processes
  • Fundamental problem-solving skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility in work shifts to meet departmental needs
  • Strong discretion, judgment, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
