Job Summary:
The Cash Posting Associate is responsible for preparing daily deposits of cash receipts and providing documentation for posting patient payments to accounts or general ledger. Coordination with the supervisor ensures accurate balancing of daily cash deposits.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate records of daily cash receipts received via mail, courier, lockbox, or electronic transfer. Prepare deposits for all cash receipts.
• Post insurance and personal payments to the appropriate patient accounts using checks, receipts, and electronic transactions. Verify and apply contractual adjustments correctly.
• Calculate proration of lump-sum payments for multiple accounts, such as disputed claim settlements.
• Correct carrier or financial class assignments to match actual payers. Research and process unidentified payments appropriately, including transmittal letters.
• Post zero payments promptly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.
Certified Patient Account Technician (CPAT) preferred.
