Description:
Dubai Scholars Private School is inviting applications from dynamic, dedicated, and highly motivated professionals for the role of Career Guidance Counsellor for the academic year 2026–27. This position is ideal for an experienced counsellor who is passionate about student development and guiding learners toward well-informed academic and career decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply a structured and scaffolded approach to help students explore, identify, and develop suitable career pathways
- Conduct formal psychometric assessments and provide structured career counselling from Year 8 onwards
- Create and maintain detailed student portfolios, including research on courses, universities, and career clusters
- Guide students on subject selections, degree choices, and long-term career planning
- Support students with entrance examinations, personal statements, and the full university application process, including documentation and submissions
- Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with parents to discuss individualized student career options
- Assess students’ interests, abilities, and aptitudes through interviews, evaluations, and personalised planning
- Help students develop essential life skills such as time management, organisation, and effective study techniques
- Coordinate and liaise with local and international universities, as well as external career consultants
- Organise Career Fairs, university visits, career exhibitions, presentations, and guidance workshops
- Assist with arranging local and international university exposure visits
- Support Community Service and Outreach initiatives (added advantage)
- Develop internship placements and experiential learning opportunities
- Create meaningful exposure opportunities that allow students to explore their interests and passions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Counselling
- Teaching qualification will be considered an added advantage
- At least 2 years of experience in the UAE as a Guidance Counsellor
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
