Position Overview
We are seeking a diligent Remote Bookkeeper with 1–2 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience. In this role you’ll maintain client books, prepare routine financial reports, and act as a primary point of contact for bookkeeping-related client communication. The position can be full-time or part-time and is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records: record daily transactions, post general ledger entries, and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports: compile and review profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and periodic summaries for clients.
  • Month-end & year-end support: assist with closing activities and reconciliations.
  • Client communication: handle client calls and emails to clarify transactions, explain reports, and request missing documentation.
  • Accounting software use: work comfortably in QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks, or similar platforms to enter and reconcile data.
  • Error identification & resolution: spot inconsistencies in records and take corrective steps or escalate to senior accountants.
  • Collaborate with team members: coordinate with senior accountants to resolve client questions and improve bookkeeping workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 1–2 years in bookkeeping or entry-level accounting.
  • Technical skills: Proficient with QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks, or comparable systems.
  • Knowledge: Solid grasp of bookkeeping fundamentals and basic financial reporting.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; comfortable managing client interactions professionally.
  • Work setup: Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, dedicated remote workspace.
  • Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client tasks and deadlines.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required.
