We’re seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to join a people-first, fully remote CPA firm with a tight-knit, collaborative team culture. If you love leading people, serving clients well, and shaping systems and processes — this is your chance to do meaningful work without the burnout.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of remote bookkeepers, reviewing work, providing feedback, and guiding professional growth
- Oversee high-level bookkeeping deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear reporting
- Train team members on best practices, technical skills, and client communication
- Support technology improvements and process development to help the firm grow sustainably
- Strengthen client relationships through high-touch service and proactive insights
- Collaborate with leadership on pricing, billing, and overall service strategy
- Contribute to firm strategy discussions and help shape a modern accounting practic
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Minimum 2 years managing a remote team in a multi-client environment
- Strong technical knowledge of bookkeeping workflows, multi-state payroll, compliance, and reporting
- Deep working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and review other bookkeepers’ work
- Comfortable with cloud-based tools and process improvements
- Bonus: Familiarity with Keeper, Canopy, Gusto, Loom, and an interest in using AI for efficiency
Experience:
- Must have experience coaching teams, managing workflows, and supporting multi-client operations
- History of building trust with clients and providing consultative guidance, not just transactional support
