Description:
Watermark Books & Café is seeking a meticulous Junior Bookkeeper to join our financial team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable managing sensitive financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, verifying invoices, and preparing bank deposits
- Maintain an organized accounting system to ensure financial data accuracy
- Process payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable promptly
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information for month-end closing
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Assist in budgeting and planning to support company financial goals
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in Business or Accounting are advantageous
- Previous bookkeeping experience, preferably in a similar business environment
- Proficiency with MS Excel, QuickBooks, or comparable accounting software
- Strong numerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
