Description:
Trescal is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team remotely. This role involves managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting general bookkeeping tasks. The position is ideal for someone proficient in accounting principles, capable of processing payables efficiently, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Duties:
- Review and enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for payment processing
- Schedule and process timely payments via checks, ACH, or online systems
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update vendor files, including W-9s and payment preferences
- Prepare and assist with 1099 filings as needed
Bookkeeping Duties:
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, receipts, and expenses
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Maintain organized records and documentation for audit and tax purposes
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and accounts payable
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage)
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Reliable high-speed internet and personal computer setup
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certification such as QuickBooks ProAdvisor or CPB
- Experience with expense management or AP automation tools (Bill.com, Ramp, Divvy)
- Prior experience working in a remote or distributed team
