Valley Behavioral Health – Billing Specialist | Revenue Cycle
Valley Behavioral Health is seeking a Billing Specialist I to join our Revenue Cycle team. This role focuses on performing routine billing, accounting, and administrative tasks under supervision while maintaining high standards of customer service. This position is initially on-site for training, after which it becomes fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop knowledge and skills to manage service-to-payment processes including denials, non-responses, service errors, authorizations, and eligibility verification.
- Verify patient insurance and eligibility using online portals or phone calls; update accounts accurately.
- Maintain precise documentation of patient demographics.
- Determine the need for pre-authorization and obtain authorizations for scheduled procedures.
- Receive and post client payments accurately.
- Contact patients and clinical programs to gather additional insurance information.
- Monitor and process daily fax requests.
- Communicate insurance and other important updates to staff.
- Meet established production goals consistently.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow internal billing procedures.
- Preferred: 1 year of billing office experience and knowledge of insurance billing terminology.
