The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing billing processes for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance agency accounts within a centralized billing framework. This position ensures accurate invoicing, resolves billing discrepancies, and maintains compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Billing Operations

  • Generate and process invoices for agency-billed P&C policies according to established timelines.
  • Validate premium amounts, endorsements, and adjustments before issuing bills.
  • Ensure accuracy by reviewing broker invoices, carrier binders/quotes, and policy screen setup (commission, payable entity, producer commission) before transacting.

Agency Support

  • Serve as the main contact for agency billing inquiries with local service teams.
  • Collaborate with service teams to resolve premium finance questions and clarifications.
  • Assist agencies with understanding centralized billing processes and system navigation.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and the implementation of new billing tools.

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in billing/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, centralized environment with multiple stakeholders.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance billing, accounting, or related financial operations; P&C insurance experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:


The typical base pay for this role is $65,000 per year. Compensation is based on skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location. Additional benefits may include variable compensation, commission, annual bonus, health and wellbeing programs, retirement plans, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and access to learning and development opportunities.
