We’re Hiring – Billing Specialist I (Remote)
Hanger, Inc., a global leader in orthotic and prosthetic services and products, is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist I to join our remote team. This role focuses on providing high-quality customer service to patients, employees, and referral sources while performing specialized administrative and billing tasks in compliance with regulations, including HIPAA.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain accurate patient, billing, and insurance information, including verification and pre-authorizations
- Review patient charts for completeness and compliance
- Convert NextGen encounters and resolve claim edits
- Submit paper and electronic claims accurately
- Maintain knowledge of billing systems and payer specifications
- Reconcile billing errors and resubmissions
- Coordinate with payers to ensure accurate billing and maximize reimbursement
- Report key statistics on sales, revenue, cash flow, and patient activity
- Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of experience in auditing or data analytics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office environment
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as NextGen and/or OnBase
- Knowledge of DME/Orthotic products

- Proficient in Windows office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and billing/reporting systems
