Job Summary:
We’re seeking a detail-focused Provider Billing Specialist to manage provider billing inquiries and day-to-day billing operations. This role requires accurate claims handling, consistent data maintenance across integrated systems, and strong provider communication. The successful candidate will help resolve claim issues, process documentation, and support billing projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve provider inquiries about claim status, payments and billing procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents to providers on request.
  • Update and maintain provider account information across two integrated billing systems.
  • Verify insurance details needed for claims processing and reconciliation.
  • Investigate and reconcile provider inquiries; identify and report discrepancies.
  • Document all provider interactions in the appropriate systems.
  • Generate routine and ad-hoc billing reports.
  • Assist with out-of-network medical claim petitions and special billing projects as assigned.
  • Keep provider contact information current and assist with account updates.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and provider-facing communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel required for data analysis).
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Experience with accurate, high-speed data entry.
  • Must be located in the Eastern Standard Time zone to support required hours.

Compensation & Perks:

  • Expected base pay: $14.71 – $17.90 per hour (final pay depends on U.S. geographic market, skills and experience).
