Description:

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Representative II to join its remote billing team in the United States. This full-time position is ideal for professionals with experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, insurance claims, or healthcare customer service who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will analyze insurance claims, process payments, resolve billing issues, and collaborate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to ensure accurate reimbursement. Applicants must have a dedicated home workspace and be available to attend occasional in-office training or meetings when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and process responses from third-party insurance payers for paper and electronic claims.

• Post insurance payments using Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents.

• Review denials and determine appropriate follow-up actions.

• Utilize automated tools to process claims, denials, and payment responses.

• Communicate with patients, providers, and internal teams to resolve billing issues.

• Follow departmental business rules and standard operating procedures.

• Support initiatives to improve cash collections and reduce outstanding balances.

• Maintain productivity, quality, attendance, and customer satisfaction standards.

• Assist with additional billing-related projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Billing, Customer Service, Insurance, or Healthcare.

• Some college coursework is preferred.

• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Windows applications, and video conferencing tools.

• Strong keyboarding, navigation, and data entry skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

• Dedicated home office with secure and private workspace.

• Ability to attend occasional office visits for training or business needs.

• Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.

• Knowledge of Quest billing systems, reject codes, WBS, and QBS is preferred.
