Description:
GeneDx is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly accurate Billing Data Entry Specialist to support its billing operations team in the United States. This role is critical to ensuring patient billing data is entered correctly and verified thoroughly to support timely reimbursement and compliant claim processing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in healthcare or laboratory billing, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a structured, process-driven environment.
Shift Details:
- Tuesday through Saturday
- 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM EST
- 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM PST
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and verify patient demographic and billing information
- Review interfaced patient data to ensure it transfers correctly into the billing system
- Confirm the correct payor is assigned to prevent reimbursement delays
- Identify and resolve discrepancies related to patient, provider, or insurance details prior to claim submission
- Ensure compliance with payor billing guidelines and internal company policies
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve missing or inaccurate information
- Support timely and accurate claim submission while meeting productivity standards
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all data in accordance with HIPAA and industry privacy standards
- Perform additional assigned duties while demonstrating company leadership values and supporting organizational goals
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in billing data entry, preferably within healthcare or laboratory billing
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong discrepancy identification skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Solid understanding of HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Experience with Xifin billing software is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
