Join Davis Wright Tremaine LLP as a Billing/Collection Specialist!

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, an AmLaw 100 law firm with 10 offices nationwide, is seeking a dedicated Billing/Collection Specialist to join our Portland office team. This role offers the flexibility to work fully remotely within a reasonable commuting distance from Portland.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain work-in-progress records and process client invoices accurately.
• Monitor time entry deadlines and edit billing memos as needed.
• Serve as back-up to Portland Collections, collaborating with accounting teams, attorneys, secretaries, and clients to resolve outstanding invoice issues.
• Independently manage assigned client accounts and proactively review accounts to prevent uncollectible balances.
• Use Aderant Expert Billing to generate pre-bills and invoices according to attorney instructions and client guidelines.
• Ensure correct setup of client/matter information and invoice templates.
• Respond to attorney inquiries regarding billing and work-in-progress records.
• Monitor and collect assigned accounts receivable, escalating unresolved issues appropriately.
• Use collections software to maintain accurate client account records, including communications, payments, deadlines, and preferences.
• Generate and distribute template reminder statements, and communicate custom payment inquiries verbally and in writing.
• Produce statistical reports and spreadsheets as required.
• Assist with accounting projects to support best practices.
• Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and adhere to schedules, including overtime as needed.

Qualifications:
• 1+ years of relevant experience in professional office or legal environment.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and attorneys.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
