Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Assistant to join its Finance team. This opportunity offers the flexibility of remote work for candidates located within reasonable commuting distance of the firm’s offices in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. The Billing Assistant will support the Billing Team by maintaining work-in-progress records, preparing and revising client invoices, assisting with reporting requests, and supporting billing system maintenance. Key Responsibilities:

• Process prebills and generate invoices using Aderant Expert Billing in accordance with attorney instructions and client guidelines.

• Provide overflow and out-of-office support for Billing Specialists and Billing Proofreaders.

• Collaborate with the E-Billing Department, Rates Team, and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.

• Monitor and manage tasks within the centralized billing inbox.

• Assist legal assistants and attorneys with reporting needs to meet client accrual deadlines.

• Respond to inquiries related to time entry records and billing matters.

• Update billing system records, including task codes, activity codes, narrative edits, and time entry modifications.

• Support finance-related projects and initiatives that promote operational efficiency and best practices.

• Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to work schedules.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a professional office environment.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and quality control.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
