Description:
CYB Human Resources is seeking a dedicated Billing Assistant to join the Center for Resilience Strategies team. This remote, part-time role is crucial for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing processes while supporting both administrative and insurance-related functions. The position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with experience in insurance verification, copay processing, and administrative support in a behavioral health or medical billing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct insurance Verifications of Benefits (VOBs) for new and existing clients
- Process and reconcile client copays and payments accurately
- Support ongoing insurance billing operations, including data entry and claim review
- Assist with insurance credentialing for new clinicians and maintenance of provider enrollments
- Communicate with insurance companies to confirm coverage, follow up on claims, and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health records (EHR) and billing systems
- Collaborate with administrative and billing teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of billing issues
- Uphold all HIPAA privacy and security standards

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

- Schedule may be split into five 4-hour days or four 5-hour days (Must work Mondays)
Requirements:
- Prior experience verifying insurance benefits, preferably in behavioral health or medical billing
- Strong working knowledge of insurance terminology and benefit verification procedures
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Proficiency with technology, including EHR systems and spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment
Preferred:
- Experience in behavioral health billing or administrative support
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and electronic records management
