Description:
MetLife is looking to hire a detail-oriented and customer-focused Billing Analyst to support billing operations for Property & Casualty payroll deduction and direct billing accounts. The role focuses on ensuring a seamless billing experience for group customers while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and service excellence across all billing-related processes.
This position is remote but requires occasional travel to designated office locations for collaboration and operational alignment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical ability, excellent communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset to manage complex billing scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage billing administration processes for group customers and ensure smooth billing operations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients
• Act as a primary point of contact for billing inquiries and resolve issues efficiently
• Participate in escalation calls with customers, brokers, sales, and service teams when required
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, missing remittances, overpayments, and related issues
• Educate customers on billing procedures and support onboarding and ongoing account management
• Monitor billing reports, identify errors, and ensure timely corrections in billing systems
• Handle suspense accounts, billing vs. remittance mismatches, and eligibility updates
• Support reconciliation processes and ensure proper allocation of payments
• Assist in decision-making related to refunds, write-offs, and reinstatements
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve billing accuracy and efficiency
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of business or customer service experience in billing or related operations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues with professionalism and tact
• Strong numerical and analytical problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Experience with billing and administrative systems (UIS, CBS, CDF)
• Understanding of payroll schedules, eligibility, and enrollment processes
