Description:
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Developer to support cloud migration initiatives for its HHS HRSA customer. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact government projects while working in a flexible remote environment. The position is focused on hands-on cloud development, infrastructure automation, and secure enterprise-scale Azure solutions.
As part of a collaborative technical team, you will support large-scale Azure cloud migrations and play a key role in building, testing, validating, and maintaining a secure TIC 3.0 cloud environment using Azure services and Akamai SASE solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build, test, validate, and demonstrate a complete TIC 3.0 environment using Azure and Akamai SASE
• Support migration of existing Azure-hosted applications into a new Azure TIC 3.0 environment
• Migrate endpoints from Citrix NetScalers to Akamai cloud-based SASE solutions using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Develop, maintain, and execute IaC using tools such as Terraform and ARM templates
• Participate in change management processes, including preparing Technical Implementation Plans (TIPs) and presenting changes to the Control Advisory Board (CAB)
• Implement alerting, monitoring, logging, and security solutions including SSL, PKI, Splunk, CrowdStrike, SolarWinds, and uptime monitoring
• Deploy Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using OKTA or SAML technologies
• Document and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Prepare and maintain System Security Plans aligned with NIST 800-53 controls
• Collaborate with program and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Attend scheduled and ad-hoc team and customer meetings
• Perform post-migration support, including issue remediation during and after business hours
• Provide training to government personnel on migration processes
• Deliver weekly and on-demand status reports
• Participate in on-call support rotations and special projects as required
Requirements:
• Minimum High School diploma with 8+ years of relevant IT experience
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience working in Microsoft Azure environments
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise organizations
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ARM, or similar tools
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, Git, XML, JSON, Azure CLI, and AWS CLI
• Familiarity with AKS and EKS container platforms
• Hands-on experience with event logging tools such as Azure Event Hub and Splunk
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancers, application gateways, NSGs, WAFs, and firewall rules
• Exposure to CyberArk, Cisco AnyConnect, Zscaler, and cloud security tools
• Ability to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a government background screening, including fingerprinting
• Must have resided in the United States for at least three of the past five years
Preferred Skills:
• Relevant certifications such as Azure, CompTIA Security+, CrowdStrike, or related credentials
• Experience with Agile and ITIL frameworks (SCRUM, SAFe)
• Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform complex technical tasks with minimal supervision
• Experience communicating effectively with customers and stakeholders
• Broad understanding of cloud and information security policies
