Description:
VNS Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Authorization Coordinator (CCSS) to join its growing health plans department in New York. In this role, you will be responsible for handling authorization and service requests, ensuring timely processing, and coordinating with internal departments, providers, and members. This position requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple administrative and healthcare-related tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create, update, and maintain authorization requests for members accurately and efficiently.
• Research and resolve issues related to authorization or order discrepancies.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and fax communications as required.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers and members regarding authorization needs.
• Collaborate with Care Management, Member Services, and Eligibility teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all authorization activities.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service role.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, or Access.
• Experience in Utilization Management is preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Strong knowledge of:
• Healthcare authorization processes and service coordination
• Customer service operations in healthcare settings
• Microsoft Office tools and administrative systems
