Description:

Stride, Inc. is seeking a Remote Attendance Specialist to support student attendance initiatives for Indiana Digital Learning School (INDLS). The successful candidate will help ensure students maintain regular attendance by identifying challenges, working with families, and supporting solutions that improve student engagement and academic success.

This role involves coordinating attendance programs, communicating with students, families, and school teams, maintaining compliance with attendance requirements, and preparing reports related to attendance and truancy. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and experience working with families or student support services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate school-wide attendance efforts and absenteeism prevention programs.

• Educate families about the importance of regular attendance and help address barriers affecting student participation.

• Investigate causes of unexcused or excessive absences and support problem-solving efforts.

• Communicate with families through calls, emails, and attendance notifications.

• Work with teachers to monitor student compliance with attendance policies.

• Recommend families for truancy intervention meetings when required.

• Participate in truancy meetings with school administrators.

• Ensure compliance with state attendance guidelines, student progress requirements, and system login requirements.

• Maintain attendance withdrawal records according to school policies and state requirements.

• Prepare attendance and truancy reports for school, county, and state requirements.

• Collaborate with student support teams to assist students requiring additional services.

• Develop individualized action plans with families and teachers to improve attendance and engagement.

• Support the development of procedures and workshops related to attendance improvement.

• Assist school staff with attendance and truancy-related projects.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

• Minimum 2 years of truancy experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to pass required background checks.

• Knowledge of state school attendance laws and K-12 education regulations.

• Understanding of state-specific truancy court procedures.

• Familiarity with online learning environments.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

• Experience working with families, enrollment processes, or student support services is preferred.

• Post-secondary degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services, or related field is an advantage.
