Description:
Wilcore Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented ATO Specialist to support and lead the security authorization process for the VA Chatbot program. This role plays a critical part in ensuring federal systems meet strict security, compliance, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in federal cybersecurity documentation, security compliance processes, and Zero Trust Architecture implementation.
This position is best suited for professionals who can manage complex security authorization workflows, collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, and ensure continuous compliance with VA and federal cybersecurity requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the full Authority to Operate (ATO) process from planning through continuous monitoring
• Develop, maintain, and update critical security documentation including POA&M, SSP, PIA, and SARs
• Ensure compliance with VA security policies and Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards
• Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and program management teams
• Monitor and track ATO status, compliance metrics, audit findings, and remediation progress
• Support implementation of Zero Trust Architecture principles across the program
• Ensure system security alignment with federal requirements and organizational policies
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and compliance stakeholders
Requirements:
• Proven experience managing ATO processes for federal systems (VA experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and federal security policies
• Hands-on experience with security documentation (POA&M, SSP, PIA, SARs)
• Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture principles and implementation
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Must be a US citizen and eligible to obtain low-level security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree required
