Description:

Datum General Contracting LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Technical Engineer (Civil) to join its growing construction team in Abu Dhabi. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career civil engineers to gain hands-on experience in technical office operations, planning, quantity surveying support, and project coordination within a dynamic construction environment.

The successful candidate will assist in project documentation, planning activities, technical submissions, quantity take-offs, and coordination with various project stakeholders. Immediate joiners with relevant UAE construction experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, and material submissions

• Perform quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and support cost estimation and budgeting activities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents for technical compliance

• Support project scheduling, work program preparation, and progress monitoring activities

• Coordinate with site teams to ensure project activities are completed according to approved schedules

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, planning updates, and project dashboards

• Assist the Quantity Surveying team with measurements, variations, and payment applications

• Coordinate with Procurement, Site Engineers, and Project Managers regarding project requirements and timelines

• Maintain records of RFIs, technical submissions, approved drawings, and project documentation

• Support the identification of project delays and assist with corrective action plans

• Prepare technical reports and project correspondence as required

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• 1–2 years of UAE experience in Technical Office, Planning, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Engineering

• Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring techniques

• Familiarity with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project

• Understanding of quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, and cost estimation

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication and coordination skills

• Experience in building and infrastructure projects will be an advantage

• Immediate joiners preferred
