About the job:
JLL is hiring an Assistant Property Manager to support our growing retail property management portfolio. This position can be performed remotely from the Los Angeles area with periodic site visits (properties span from Orange County to San Bernardino County). The APM will provide hands-on administrative and operational support to Property Manager(s) to ensure properties are well-maintained, financially sound, and tenant-focused.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support property operations including maintenance coordination, tenant relations, and vendor management.
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks — reconciling A/R, coding invoices, and supporting collections.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, assist with annual budgeting and track property performance.
- Maintain and track certificates of insurance, execute contract preparation and record keeping.
- Help manage property improvement initiatives and coordinate with on-site staff to ensure buildings remain clean, safe and welcoming.
- Serve as a tenant liaison to resolve routine issues and improve tenant satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with JLL processes, procedures and technology platforms; apply data and new tools to streamline work.
Who We’re Looking For / Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting a commercial property management team (retail experience preferred).
- Solid understanding of property management financials and basic accounting routines.
- Strong organization, time-management and written/verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel), Yardi and common AP/AR workflows (experience with Yardi preferred).
- Proactive, service-oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks and anticipate administrative needs.
- Relationship-builder who thrives in a team environment and adapts well to change.
