Description:

GroupL FZE is currently seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Logistics Manager to oversee our end-to-end maritime logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in offshore supply chain processes, government clearances, and team leadership, with a strong background in import/export documentation and marine transport regulations.

Preferred Languages:
Fluency in Tagalog, Arabic, Russian, Sinhalese, or Nepali will be considered an advantage.

Primary Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

  • Supervise the entire maritime logistics workflow—from vessel coordination and offshore resupply to storage and final distribution.
  • Ensure timely and secure movement of goods, equipment, and personnel between marine bases and offshore locations.

Regulatory Adherence & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with UAE and international maritime transport regulations and trade laws.
  • Oversee accurate documentation related to customs clearance and shipments, particularly for telecommunications and technology-related cargo.

Regulatory Body Coordination:

  • Act as the point of contact for all government liaison matters concerning communication and digital equipment.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound cargo meets all licensing, clearance, and regulatory conditions.
  • Maintain proactive relationships with officials to ensure smooth processing.

Inventory Control & Risk Prevention:

  • Implement efficient inventory management systems to avoid shortages or surplus stock.
  • Anticipate and address potential delays, clearance challenges, and supply chain bottlenecks.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor the logistics team, offering guidance, support, and performance assessments to maintain high service standards.

Vendor and Partner Management:

  • Evaluate and onboard logistics service providers.
  • Monitor performance against contractual KPIs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Process Refinement:

  • Spearhead continuous improvement projects through automation, cost control, and process optimization.
  • Benchmark marine logistics best practices and introduce innovative systems.

Reporting & Internal Coordination:

  • Maintain detailed records of shipments, clearances, and internal communications.
  • Coordinate with departments, clients, vendors, and authorities to maintain smooth operations across the logistics network.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in logistics operations with team supervision. UAE regulatory experience is highly preferred.
  • Sector Knowledge: Offshore and marine logistics, shipping, customs, and government equipment clearance protocols.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, MS Office, and logistics tracking tools.
  • Core Strengths: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to operate efficiently in high-pressure environments.
