Description:

Omnium International is looking to hire a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Cost Manager to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This role is well-suited for professionals with experience in cost management or quantity surveying who are eager to contribute to large-scale construction and engineering projects.

The successful candidate will support project cost control activities, assist in budget management, and ensure accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior professionals while gaining hands-on exposure to complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and continuously monitor actual costs against planned budgets

• Perform quantity surveying tasks, including measurements and preparation of bills of quantities

• Review and verify contractor and supplier payment applications for accuracy and compliance

• Monitor and manage change orders, assessing their financial implications on project costs

• Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, variance analysis, and performance dashboards

• Support procurement processes and contract administration related to cost management

• Collaborate with project teams to provide accurate cost data and financial insights

• Maintain organized cost records, documentation, and cash flow forecasts

Requirements:

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or project estimation

• Prior experience working on construction or engineering projects

• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management tools or software

• Good understanding of construction contracts, project processes, and cost control methods

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline

• UAE work experience will be considered an advantage
