Position Summary:

This position assists with the management and integrity of the company’s financial accounting processes, records, and reporting. Responsibilities include managing customer receivables, payables, journal entries, the production of financial statements and reports, and all activities related to the monthly financial close. This position requires advanced knowledge of financial reporting, ledger accounting, GAAP standards, and the skill to manage accounting and financial activities in a growing and complex organization.

This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Corporate Controller.

What you will do:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial and accounting reports for internal executives and external regulatory entities.
  • Manage and execute month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with the oversight of accounting for reserves, assets, expenditures, and the projection of revenues and expenses.
  • Assist with analysis and management of accounting systems and processes, adapting to company growth and a changing infrastructure.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, journal entries, corporate credit cards, records and banking.
  • Assist with the preparation of balance sheets and profit and loss statements and analyze current and projected financial positions.
  • Assist with the preparation of property and sales tax returns and respond to related inquiries. Prepare reports for federal, state, and local government and tax reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable expenditures, ensuring transactions are coded and processed correctly.
  • Manage accounts receivable, collectibles and reconciliations, ensuring that clients are billed properly.
  • Assist with the response to external audits. Assist with internal operational audits of all company functions, ensuring that FCC Communications and other regulations are met.
  • Manage the annual TRS Cost reports preparation and submission, and work with Controller for FCC audit preparation and responses.
  • Assist with the development and communication of policies and processes for travel, entertainment and other financial transactions.
  • Assist with coordinating for the company to conduct business in new states, and secure business licenses and tax status information.
  • Ensure a competent, motivated staff through effective hiring, training, counseling, supervising and performance management.
  • Establish action plans, hold staff accountable for accomplishing objectives, and motivate staff performance through effective leadership.
  • Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information, converting data toa common general ledger system; and obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements.
  • Take an active talent management approach to onboard, mentor and inspire a diverse, highly engaged, and skilled team.  Continually upgrade talent through timely talent management, development, succession planning and recruitment.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Accounting, General Business, or Finance; or comparable, related work experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including a mix of public accounting and corporate accounting roles.
  • Minimum 3years of management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of standard accounting systems and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and shifting priorities in a growing company.
  • High degree of computer literacy in specialized software related to departmental operations including accounting, general ledger systems and database, email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
  • Ability to develop financial reports, narratives, and spreadsheets with graphic representations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, and analytical skills. Ability to establish and communicate priorities and solve a wide range of operational and strategic management problems.
  • Ability to hire, reward, and discipline employees; appraise employee performance, address employee relations issues, and resolve problems.

Work Environment:

100% Remote: Work environment is at home.

Compensation:

$130,000 – $150,000/yr prospectively plus 10% bonus determined by competitive market analysis and internal equity considerations. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs.
