Description:
We are currently hiring an Assistant Category Manager – Appliances for a well-established retail group based in Dubai. This on-site role is well-suited for professionals with solid experience in category management, merchandising, or retail buying, particularly within the home appliances or consumer electronics sector. The selected candidate will closely support the Category Manager in driving category performance, improving inventory efficiency, strengthening vendor relationships, and executing promotional strategies within a large-format retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing category strategies, pricing structures, and product assortment plans
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, inventory levels, sell-through rates, and promotional effectiveness
- Prepare detailed analytical and performance reports using Excel and retail ERP systems
- Coordinate with vendors regarding purchase orders, pricing support, and promotional activities
- Support negotiations related to commercial terms, rebates, and promotional funding
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on product launches and marketing campaigns
- Track competitor pricing, promotional activities, and overall market trends
- Ensure accuracy of SKU data, pricing details, and promotions within ERP systems
- Support inventory planning initiatives to minimize stock-outs and reduce aging inventory
Ideal Candidate:
- 3–5 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or retail buying
- Prior exposure to appliances or consumer electronics retail environments
- Strong numerical, analytical, and reporting capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and retail ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills with strong vendor coordination ability
- Commercially aware, proactive, and motivated to grow into a Category Manager role
