Description:

MyShops UAE is currently expanding its operations and is looking to hire a motivated and commercially focused Assistant Category Buyer. This role is ideal for professionals who have a strong understanding of the UAE retail market and are eager to contribute to strategic purchasing decisions across multiple product categories.

As part of the procurement team, you will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, optimizing product selection, and ensuring competitive pricing strategies that support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle end-to-end procurement activities for assigned categories and brands

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors and suppliers across the UAE

• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, rebates, and promotional agreements to maximize value

• Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and product availability to stay competitive

• Coordinate effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth stock management, delivery, and fulfilment processes

• Assist in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization to maintain optimal stock levels

• Analyze sales data and performance metrics to refine product assortment and improve results

• Source products locally when required to meet business needs

• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, guidelines, and compliance standards

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in retail buying or procurement within the UAE

• Established network with local distributors and brand partners

• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive deals

• Hands-on experience across categories such as Mobility, Accessories, IT Products, Gaming, Health & Beauty, Electronics, and Home Appliances (MDA & SDA)

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Good knowledge of local sourcing practices and market dynamics

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
