We are seeking a highly skilled AR Specialist to manage physician billing and accounts receivable processes. This role requires advanced knowledge of the revenue cycle, OB/GYN billing, insurance denials, medical terminology, coding, and billing systems. The AR Specialist will serve as a patient advocate, ensuring timely follow-up on accounts while supporting patient-centered care and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve insurance denials using expertise in OB/GYN billing
  • Communicate effectively with payers and ensure accurate claim resubmissions
  • Monitor claim status and eligibility through payer portals and resolve issues promptly
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide documentation for appeals and claims processing
  • Maintain compliance with medical billing regulations and company policies
  • Manage outstanding accounts receivable using proper collection practices
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry for billing activities
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve performance goals

Core Revenue Cycle Functions:

  • Follow Revenue Cycle policies and procedures
  • Work assigned task lists, work queues, and reports efficiently
  • Maintain knowledge of third-party reimbursements and managed care contracts
  • Utilize Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Explanation of Payments (EOP) effectively
  • Track daily activities and maintain accurate documentation
  • Meet department production standards consistently
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and calculate figures, percentages, and financial data
  • Proficient with Physician Billing Systems, EMR, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Skilled in using payer websites, portals, and other healthcare system applications
  • Exceptional customer service and patient advocacy skills

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience in medical claims collection
  • Familiarity with aging reports, delinquent claims, EOBs, and correspondence
  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain professional communication
