The Analytics Engineer – Consumer Data Science role sits at the intersection of Data Science and Data Engineering, focusing on building scalable data systems, analytics tools, and pipelines that power product decisions and user experience improvements across Reddit’s consumer platform.

This role works closely with Data Scientists, Product, Engineering, and Design teams to strengthen data infrastructure, improve data quality, and enable self-service analytics across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain large-scale ETL/ELT data pipelines

• Build and optimize data models, workflows, and analytics systems

• Collaborate with Data Science and Product teams on data requirements

• Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and data visualization systems

• Improve data reliability, quality, and automation processes

• Enable self-service analytics across cross-functional teams

• Mentor and guide technical teams on data engineering practices

• Contribute to data strategy and architecture improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field

• 4+ years of experience with large-scale ETL systems

• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, or Scala

• Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows (e.g., Airflow)

• Strong understanding of relational and distributed databases

• Experience with data visualization and dashboard design

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

• Ability to work independently and in team environments

• Consumer product analytics experience is a plus

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Python, SQL, Spark, or Scala
