Description:
Kenya Airways is seeking a proactive and experienced Airport Officer to join their ground operations team in Sharjah, UAE. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth airport operations and upholding high standards of punctuality, safety, and customer satisfaction in accordance with both internal policies and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure third-party service providers meet contractual standards related to punctuality and customer service as per company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee the check-in, boarding, and arrival processes to ensure passengers enjoy a seamless and comfortable travel experience.
  • Act as the lead liaison with airport authorities and stakeholders in the absence of the Station Manager, including representing Kenya Airways at AOC meetings.
  • Monitor and guide all departure activities to support on-time performance while maintaining strict compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with airport personnel, government entities, and other airlines to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Allocate and supervise staff tasks during shifts for maximum efficiency and team performance.
  • Communicate critical updates to passengers, team members, and third-party providers to avoid lapses in service.
  • Compile and file accurate flight reports and related documentation for internal and regulatory use.
  • Serve as acting Station Manager when the primary manager is unavailable.
  • Promote the airline’s image through excellent representation and customer engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant Higher Diploma.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in airport handling operations in a supervisory capacity.
  • Certifications in Dangerous Goods Regulations (CAT 10), Ground Handling Management (IATA or equivalent), and Passenger Handling Training.
  • Familiarity with financial management and cost control.
  • Proficiency in ALTEA DCS – CM and FM systems.
  • Must be computer literate.
