Description:
Molina Healthcare is seeking a meticulous and collaborative Actuarial Analyst to support our actuarial function and financial analysis initiatives. This role is fully remote and involves extracting, analyzing, and synthesizing data from multiple sources to identify risks, estimate liabilities, establish premium rates, and support reporting.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to complete IBNR (Incurred But Not Reported) estimates and rate adequacy studies, documenting assumptions clearly
- Analyze results to detect early trends or potential issues in medical care costs
- Design and conduct actuarial studies related to medical care costs and emerging trends
- Generate and distribute routine reports to support IBNR calculations, pricing, and financial reporting
- Extract and compile information from various systems to support executive-level decision-making
- Prepare claim experience reports, rate models, and state regulatory filings
- Research, develop, and communicate reports and analyses for senior leadership
✅ Required Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of actuarial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams passed
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
- Advanced understanding of statistics, predictive analytics, and problem-solving skills
- Strong critical-thinking abilities and attention to detail
- Effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Time-management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of insurance concepts and actuarial/technical terminology
- Consistently accurate and timely work output
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables), and relevant actuarial software
