Job Overview
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist supporting our western locations, you’ll provide day-to-day AR and collections support to the Regional Credit Manager and partner closely with sales and branch teams to protect cash flow and minimise delinquent receivables. This remote role requires working Pacific Time Zone business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively contact customers to resolve outstanding invoices and keep Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) low.
• Communicate account status—including payments, disputes, and credit holds—to branch managers, sales staff, and regional leaders.
• Escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts to leadership (Regional Credit Manager, Branch Manager, or VP Sales) for resolution.
• Record clear, timely account notes at the account and invoice level to keep internal stakeholders informed.
• Review and resolve unapplied payments, overpayments, short pays, and miscellaneous receipts; research cash-application discrepancies.
• Process credit hold requests, release orders when payment promises are received, and approve/decline credit override requests as appropriate.
• Support accurate cash application and collaborate on dispute resolution to maintain strong customer relationships.
Requirements / Experience:
• 1–3 years’ experience in credit & collections, billing, or a related accounting function.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Comfortable working Pacific Time Zone business hours from a home office.
• Experience in building materials distribution, construction, or insulation is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook; experience with HighRadius or similar collections/cash-application tools preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and high professional integrity.
Travel Requirements:
• Minimal travel required (<5%).
Physical & Work Environment:
• Primarily remote/home office role; occasional physical tasks may include light lifting (under 10 lbs.) and standard office activities (sitting, typing, phone/computer use).
• Regular, predictable attendance and the ability to meet scheduled work hours are required.
Compensation Range:
• $16.88 – $25.34 per hour (final offer will depend on experience, skills, and location).
