Description:
AMSURG is seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist III to join our remote team. This role focuses on managing intermediate outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of claims, appeals, and billing discrepancies. The Specialist will serve as a key resource for employees, vendors, and patients, while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow up on outstanding claims and appeals, including escalation cases.
- Review vendor clarification logs and provide employee/vendor training.
- Act as a knowledge resource for team members.
- Handle Claim Acknowledgements, Rejections, Edits, and Charge Corrections.
- Contact patients for payment or payment arrangements.
- Print, re-file claims, and manage daily correspondence.
- Maintain productivity standards, processing 40–50 accounts daily with ≥90% accuracy.
- Research and audit patient accounts for payments or adjustments.
- Work KAM reports and accounts receivable collector queues.
- Calculate billing units and reimbursement amounts.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and corporate compliance standards.

- Perform additional duties as assigned, following company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ASA codes, medical terminology, and insurance processing guidelines.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with commercial, Medicare, Medicaid payers, and TWCC guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Team-oriented with the ability to handle diverse personalities.
- Advanced understanding of claims processing and billing activities.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with PC applications and accounting software.
