Description:
The Maine Legal Group, a respected criminal defense and family law firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join its team remotely. This role is responsible for managing and reconciling accounts receivable, billing, and client account tracking, while ensuring ledger accuracy using MyCase and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will support bi-monthly billing cycles, generate reports, handle client inquiries, and assist with bookkeeping tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Generate bi-monthly invoices in MyCase and distribute to clients.
• Post and reconcile payments using online billing software and QuickBooks.
• Maintain and reconcile AR ledger, monitor aging accounts, and track case balances.
• Prepare reports and spreadsheets on AR status, billing trends, and case progress.
• Track invoices, client balances, payments, and trust accounting.
• Follow up with clients on overdue accounts and escalate issues to management.
• Assist with other bookkeeping tasks as assigned.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding accounts and billing.
Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or bookkeeping.
• Proficiency with online billing software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with law firm billing and CRM platforms preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
