Description:
Burnett Therapeutic Services (BTS), a behavioral and mental health provider focused on supporting children and families, is hiring an Accounts Receivable / Billing Admin Assistant to support its billing team. This remote, full-time role works Monday–Friday (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM PT) and provides essential assistance to the AR Manager to keep claims moving, payments posted, and client accounts accurate. The position is not full-cycle billing but plays a key role in ensuring timely reimbursements and clean financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily billing operations in coordination with the AR Manager.
- Verify client insurance coverage and eligibility with payers.
- Communicate with insurance companies to follow up on claims and resolve eligibility questions.
- Track denials and rejections by reason code and payer, and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Post payments, reconcile billing records, and generate invoices/statements.
- Assist clients with billing questions and payment plans.
- Prepare and organize data for audits (insurance and internal compliance).
- Perform EOB posting and billing verification tasks.
- Participate in special projects and assist the Billing Manager as requested.
- Maintain professional, confidential handling of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 1–2 years’ experience in billing, medical claims, or healthcare administration.
- Familiarity with medical billing software and EHR systems preferred; ABA/behavioral services experience is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, number tracking).
- Reliable internet, personal computer, and a dedicated remote workspace.
- Ability to work Pacific Time hours (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM PT) and occasional after-hours during peak periods.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, and professional communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a service mindset toward clients and families.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Pacific Time
