Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Analyst plays a critical role in managing the financial health of the company by overseeing customer accounts, billing, collections, and cash application. This position supports internal controls and financial accuracy by performing timely reconciliations and working cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, a solid understanding of the accounts receivable cycle and its interaction with the general ledger, and experience working in a manufacturing environment with ERP systems.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate A/R records, ensuring timely application of payments, credit reconciliation, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze customer credit applications, conduct risk assessments, and recommend credit limits.
  • Monitor open receivables, enforce payment terms, and drive proactive collection efforts through phone, email, and mail communications.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation for audits and month-end close.
  • Interface with Sales, Customer Service, and Leadership to resolve billing and credit issues.
  • Prepare and analyze A/R metrics, aging reports, and DSO performance for leadership review.
  • Ensure proper A/R posting to the General Ledger, supporting accounting accuracy and financial reporting.
  • Support ERP system utilization for A/R functions and recommend process improvements for automation and efficiency.
  • Assist in the month-end close process and internal/external audits as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of the accounts receivable process, credit management, and collections best practices
  • Familiarity with General Ledger interactions and accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Experience working in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices and supply chain impacts on invoicing and A/R

Education And Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections, or related Finance roles
