Description:
Copthorne Hotel Sharjah is looking to hire a detail-focused and well-organized Accounts Payable/General Cashier to join its Finance Department. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial processing, efficient cash handling, and smooth day-to-day accounting operations within a busy hospitality environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for both accounts payable functions and general cashier duties, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and professionalism in all financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Duties:
• Process, verify, and record supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Match invoices with purchase orders and goods receiving documents
• Ensure all invoices are properly approved before payment processing
• Prepare payment runs including cheques, bank transfers, and online payments
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding balances
• Maintain organized AP records for audit and compliance purposes
• Assist in month-end closing activities and prepare AP-related reports
• Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies professionally
General Cashier Duties:
• Collect daily cash revenue from hotel departments including F&B and Front Office
• Count, verify, and balance daily cash collections with accuracy
• Prepare and submit daily cash reports to the Finance Manager
• Ensure timely bank deposits with proper documentation
• Maintain and monitor cash float and petty cash controls
• Identify and report any cash discrepancies immediately
• Ensure secure handling and custody of cash, cheques, and related financial documents
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1 to 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Cashiering roles
• Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cash handling procedures
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software systems
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and responsibility
