Description:
TalentAlly, part of NFP, is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to support the East Coast region. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices while complying with NFP financial policies and procedures. The position involves verification, classification, and posting of AP data and includes high-touch customer service with vendors through a shared inbox. This is a support-level role within a small team reporting directly to the AP Manager. The role can be performed hybrid from Bethesda, MD, or remotely for experienced candidates.
Essential Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Operations
- Review AP invoices for correct GL coding and firm allocation.
- Utilize AP systems efficiently (currently Avid; moving to Coupa in 2026).
- Assist in new vendor onboarding and setup, including newly acquired firms.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, updating addresses, banking information, etc.
- Ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with managers to confirm necessary approvals are obtained.
- Build and maintain positive vendor relationships and respond to inquiries.
- Research discrepancies and clarify questions prior to invoice processing.
- Maintain vendor invoice records in compliance with retention policies.
- Monitor and report on client expenses.
- Perform administrative tasks including managing AP files and emails.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with Coupa AP system or similar preferred.
- Strong commitment to a career in AP or finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level.
- Experience with accounting software and web-based applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.
- Team player capable of helping refine and expand the AP role over time.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications ideal.
- 1–3 years of Accounts Payable experience required.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining confidentiality.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $50,000 – $60,000, determined by experience, education, certifications, and location.
