Role:
SmarterDx is seeking a meticulous Accounts Payable Analyst to join the accounting team and ensure vendor payments are accurate, timely, and compliant. This fully remote U.S.-based role reports to the General Accounting Manager and plays a central part in maintaining strong financial controls and improving AP processes across multiple entities.
What You’ll Do:
- Review, validate, and process vendor invoices per approval workflows and company policy.
- Ensure invoices are coded to the correct general ledger accounts, departments, locations, and cost centers.
- Manage AP inboxes for multiple business units and monitor approval queues to avoid processing delays.
- Serve as the primary contact for vendor payment questions and maintain up-to-date vendor records (W-9s, banking info).
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, disputes, and rejections; follow up with vendors and payers as needed.
- Monitor for potential duplicate or fraudulent invoices and escalate issues appropriately.
- Review and approve employee expense reports in line with company policy and ensure credit card compliance.
- Support month-end close tasks and assist with reporting and reconciliations.
- Contribute to process-improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and strengthen spend controls.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- High attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment and collaborating cross-functionally.
Nice To Haves:
- Experience with automated AP platforms such as Ramp.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite.

Compensation:
- $85,000 to $95,000 base
