Description:
A company in Sharjah is looking for a qualified and experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join its finance team. This opportunity is ideal for accounting professionals with extensive experience in supplier payments, financial accounting, and account reconciliations within the UAE.
The successful candidate will manage accounts payable processes, maintain accurate financial records, support monthly closing activities, and ensure compliance with internal controls and UAE VAT regulations. Candidates with strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process supplier invoices and payments accurately while meeting established deadlines.
• Review and verify LPOs, GRNs, invoices, quotations, and supporting documentation.
• Handle foreign supplier payments through LC and TT while reconciling supplier statements.
• Manage petty cash, employee expense claims, and supporting financial documentation.
• Perform bank, supplier, intercompany, and cash sale reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries, payment vouchers, debit notes, credit notes, and financial reports.
• Assist with monthly closing activities, cash flow forecasting, and audit preparations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and UAE VAT regulations.
• Monitor outstanding supplier balances and maintain accurate accounts payable records.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years of UAE experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
• Proven experience in invoice processing, supplier payments, and vendor account reconciliation.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and fundamental accounting principles.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
