Description:
A reputable education sector organization in Dubai is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Officer to manage core accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in fee management, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance within an educational environment.
This role involves handling student accounts, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring accurate maintenance of all accounting records. The selected candidate will also support budgeting, payroll processing, and VAT compliance while working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee fee collection, invoicing, and reconciliation through school ERP systems
• Monitor expenses against budgets and report financial variances
• Follow up on outstanding tuition fees and maintain student ledgers
• Process discounts, scholarships, concessions, and refunds
• Maintain general ledger, bank reconciliations, and petty cash
• Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements and reports
• Assist in annual budgeting and payroll processing
• Process vendor payments with proper documentation
• Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with FTA regulations
• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and school policies
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• CA part-qualification will be considered an advantage
• 3–5 years of accounting experience (education sector preferred)
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and IFRS
• Excellent MS Excel and financial reporting skills
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
