Description:
AH & Association Headquarters is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our Corporate Financial Services team. This role is responsible for assisting the Controller in managing the accounting operation, overseeing month-end and year-end closes, preparing financial statements, and leading a team of accounting professionals in a hybrid/remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Operation:

  • Supervise and mentor Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls
  • Develop and maintain a structured accounting calendar to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines
  • Streamline workflows between departments to enhance efficiency of procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles

Financial Reporting & Monthly Close:

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring reconciliations are completed and reviewed
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow in accordance with US GAAP
  • Perform variance analysis to explain differences between actuals, budgets, and prior periods

Abstract Problem Solving & Strategy:

  • Identify systemic accounting discrepancies and develop scalable solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Interpret complex financial data to provide actionable insights to senior management
  • Assist with ERP system implementation and optimization, including automation tools

Compliance & Controls:

  • Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and ensure all journal entries are properly documented
  • Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations during audits

Accounting Systems Change Management:

  • Facilitate ERP transition from Microsoft Dynamics GP to NetSuite
  • Participate in NetSuite implementation via User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to train staff
  • Implement process improvements leveraging new system features to replace manual workflows

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs)
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, SAP, or QuickBooks
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work proactively, prioritize tasks, and contribute to a collaborative accounting team
