Trilogy Federal is seeking a skilled Accounting Specialist to support a large federal client, contributing to internal controls, audit, and operational excellence across federal finance, healthcare, and government operations. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in auditing, financial systems, and compliance assessments, who can independently manage assignments and provide high-quality technical guidance.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Apply expertise in federal finance, healthcare auditing, and financial systems.
• Conduct performance audits, healthcare audits, audit remediation, and audit readiness activities.
• Support internal control and audit projects, including compliance assessments.
• Evaluate existing and future procedures, presenting findings and recommendations in written reports.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and assist with special projects as required.
• Develop business process cycle memos, including internal control documentation, flowcharts, and evaluation matrices.
• Test design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and evaluate deficiencies.
• Conduct research to support testing of effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 8 years of experience supporting audit projects.
• Experience with audits in accordance with GAO standards (GAGAS and non-GAGAS).
• Experience with healthcare compliance and internal control assessments.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs or Veterans Health Administration.
• Previous healthcare audit experience.
• Experience leading meetings.
